Shaun Golden- Monmouth County Sheriff Shaun Golden is the chief executive of the oldest and largest law enforcement agency in Monmouth County, an agency dating back to at least 1683. The Monmouth County Sheriff’s Office has 609 employees with a total budget of $69 million. Composed of three divisions, Law Enforcement, Corrections and Communications, with administrative responsibility for the Monmouth County Police Academy and the Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management. Sheriff Golden played the lead role in preparing for Superstorm Sandy, and, coordinating the response and recovery efforts during and after the

Prior to his election as Monmouth County Sheriff, Golden served as an undersheriff, where he ran the Monmouth County Regional 911 Communications Center and the operations of communications and computer networking equipment for county and municipal agencies. He has been instrumental in promoting and implementing shared services with towns at cost saving measures through the 911 Communications Center.storm.

Sheriff Golden is active in numerous professional organizations on a national, state, and county levels. He is an active member of the National Sheriff’s Association, newly elected as President of the Constitutional Officers Association of New Jersey, and serves on many local organizations some of which include the Monmouth Council of Boy Scouts, Monmouth Ocean Foundation for Children, and the Prevention Coalition of Monmouth County.

Sheriff Golden is a lifelong resident of Monmouth County and brings with him a wealth of experience in law enforcement and public administration. He has been a career law enforcement officer for 20 years, starting out as a police office with the Colts Neck Police department. Golden worked as a certified paramedic for MONOC, serving Monmouth and Ocean Counties, and was a volunteer firefighter. He holds a master’s degree in administration from Seton Hall University, also a NJ Certified Public Manager and a adjunct professor at Monmouth University with the Department of Political Science and Public Policy.
