Jane Carris who attended a Catholic University was explained to us how helpful it was in her career and higher education with starting every class with daily prayers was a greats support system. She talks to us about how anyone in sales for any type of product or company needs to keep improving keeping up with the times in our digital age.

Words to live by – Life is Sales – Whether it is selling the 2 year old on
going to bed at 8 pm, your husband on why you get the income tax money for
new carpeting this year …the art of negotiation is another way of selling
someone on your idea.
Attended college, at Olivet Nazarene University, started her journey that
has gone from working for Orville Redenbacher in Indiana, to Houston,
Denver and now New Jersey. Along the way, four sons have challenged me to
multi-task and use time management to get things done. Always giving back,
I was on the Board of Salvation Army for 9 years and the Boys Club of
America for 4. But the experience and contacts lead to jobs where I could
use my talents.
Working with the Boys Club got her invited to run the Marketing Department
at a 24 Hour Health Club. Being a Charter member of the Business and
Professional Women Club lead to being the Coop Manager at an industrial
Truck Parts company which led to the Coop Manager with Orville
Redenbacher’s company which grew from $29 million to $40 million in just 4
years. It is “who you know…not all that you know”
Later on she was referred from a with a job offer she couldn’t refuse.
However, it was in Houston Texas…far from her hometown in Indiana. The Lord
helped sell her house to the first person who looked at it and she was in
Dallas 5 weeks later.
Originally working for the telephone companies themselves, being able to
consistently win the annual contests resulting in trips all over the world.
She was inducted in to the Hall of Fame with Verizon and finished #1 out of
475 reps in the country with Sprint. Hard work and keeping what the client
needed was always my goal. Many sales people look at the paycheck but she
prides on always believing that if you did what’s right for the customer,
the money would follow. Jane and her best friend left the comfort of the
corporate world and published our own hometown directory in Texas…the joys
of business ownership! In moving, I needed a new job and found Yellowbook
now hibu.
God is good…and always there through the ups and downs, the good and
bad…the trials and tribulations. If you believe he gives each of us the
talents and gifts we need to pursue our life’s work. He has blessed me and
I try to honor him every day.
